For all ages. Enter the world of adventure, friendship, courage, a perfectly rounded education including personal skills and a great sense of diplomacy and compassion . There are wats to fight, travels to distant lands meeting other cultures and establishing friendships with many of them. Clean language, no gory details of massacre, the adrenaline pumps up in healthy, entertaining ways.

Series is based in the fictional past, in a location that loosely resembles dark ages/medieval earth (brother series "broderband" is very loosely based on the vikings). In both cases, its a "cleaned" up/friendlier version, with addition of some minor magic. The main character in this series is an orphan who winds up becoming a "ranger". A loose group of individuals trained in everything from wilderness survival to martial arts to the laws & politics of the kingdoms, charged with patrolling for dangers, defending communities and kingdoms, plus adjudicating disputes when needed. The series will follow Will along with his mentor Halt and sometimes friend Horace of adventures all throughout their fictional realm. The books are safe for little ones with only a few kisses between boyfriend/girlfriend or a husband/wife. And very minimal cursing in latter books(D, H, S words). Even though this series is for Young Adults, they will keep the olders ones like myself entertained and eager to see where John Flanagan takes these characters next.
